JOB SUMMARY
This position assists the Logistics Manager during pre- and post-event operations, as well as supports Technology staff during the week of the event. The job consists largely of building and striking the NOC and staff camping area, as well as daily maintenance and support of technology staff.
This is a temporary, full-time, Exempt role, based in Black Rock City, Nevada running from August 8th to September 13th, 2026.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
This position assists the Logistics Manager in their day to day duties. These tasks include, but are not limited to:
PERCENTAGE OF TIME SPENT
Camp Construction (30%)
- Assist in surveying the NOC yard and Tech Staff Camp
- Working with Heavy Equipment to place assets
- Working with DPW teams to facilitate housing and power installations
- Unpacking storage containers and setting up staff common areas and office spaces
- Assembling camp shade
Camp Maintenance (30%)
- Daily common area upkeep
- Daily TSA runs
- Daily ice runs
- On-call (radio) resource to logistics manager and technology staff
Camp Strike (30%)
- Shade disassembly
- Tear down and organization of common areas and NOC assets
- General camp strike
- Loading storage containers
- LNT sweep
LNT (5%)
Other Functions and Responsibilities (5%)
LEARNING AND TEACHING
Knowledge sharing – Helps acculturate and educate junior staff in Burning Man culture and business processes.
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED
- Ability to work outdoors for long periods in the heat and extreme weather
- Ability to perform physically demanding work
- Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50lbs.
- Ability to work on ladders and high places
- Ability to be a dependable and reliable resource to our staff
- Ability to take care of yourself and interact with others when under stress
- Ability to adjust schedule as needed to meet operational needs
PREFERRED
- Previous experience/attendance at the Burning Man event
- Experience with the Burning Man culture and/or regional events
- Your own trailer or RV. (Housing is an extremely limited resource and we strongly encourage applicants to have their own RV or trailer to live in during your time on playa. We do not recommend tents or shift-pods for the length of time required of this contract.)

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
- Eligible to legally work in the United States (without need for visa sponsorship)
COMPENSATION:
Individual compensation decisions are dependent on a variety of factors, including prior experience and geographical location. The anticipated pay rate for this position is $1000 per week. Additionally, a staff credential (entrance to event) as well as access to the commissary and staff showers are provided.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position requires periods of heavy lifting, bending, kneeling, squatting, and climbing. This position will be physically demanding, and requires individuals with good physical health, and endurance. Work will include the need to find and meet with department representatives who may not be in the vicinity therefore this could include walking or using some form of transportation. Much of the work will be in outside weather conditions and will be exposed to fumes or airborne particles as well as possible extremes in temperature.
